Hey again!
I am searching for good volunteer positions, internships, and jobs. I am currently 15 and a half, which means with parental permission, I can get a job (finally!) and I am a sophomore this year, which means I am almost a junior, which means I can almost apply for as many internships as I want. So basically, right now, I can apply for volunteer positions.
Volunteering, in my opinion, is really important. First off, you are giving back to your community. You are helping members of your community by giving them your free time. And colleges like it. But that's not important! :)
I volunteer in a lot of places (check out my other, rather old, never updated, blogs here and here to see what I've been doing), but I always feel like I want to do more. Yesterday, I sent in an application and a writing sample to ph8 magazine (check them out here!). I'm applying to be a fashion blogger. I really hope I get the position because I am on my high school's newspaper team and am the editor in chief of the literature magazine, so I want as much outside experience to draw into my school positions as well.
Thanks so much for reading guys! Catch you later!
Love,
Ashley
P.S. Check out my other blog here!
P.P.S. Wow I have a lot of links in this post!

Huge Update
Hello world!
I have so much to update you guys on!
I guess I'll start with school. Graphic design is now officially the most boring class ever. We literally don't do anything. Mrs. P gives us a project, then gives us two weeks to work on it. I normally finish it within the first week, which is why I end up having to do things like this. While I'm at it, if anyone has any requests for cartoons you want me to recreate in graphic design, let me know!
AP Euro... (you can already see it coming, right) Our class is now only 29 people. We were originally 40 odd people. We are very slowly diminishing. I'm still failing epicly, I don't think I've gotten higher than a B- on an quiz or test yet. But it's all good. Apparantly, we have a lot of projects that end up boosting your grade.
English is going great! We have started our drama unit, which I love. Later on in the year we are going to be doing a poetry unit, which I will literally die during. I ADORE poetry. If you want me to post some of my own work, please comment. I'll probably post it anyways, but I'd like to know if you'd read it. ^-^
Everything else is pretty much happening. Nothing much to report. Math is cool, learning about factoring and imaginary numbers and dividing polynomials (long division is not my friend). I am actually enjoying PE this year (crazy, I know!!!).
Oh, I have a lot to say about mock trial! So I am the bailiff this year which, for those of you who don't know, is the court sheriff. I swear in the witnesses and get to kick people out of the court room if they are disruptive It's really fun! I am also a back-up attorney, but the person I am a back-up for is not communicating for, so I'm a bit annoyed by him, but it's all good. He does not communicate with anyone, so I guess it's okay.
Miss Mary at the library had her last day yesterday. She is transferring to another branch of the library system. We had a giant party for her, with pizza and drinks and everything and I played my own version of "I Miss You" by Hannah Montana on the guitar, except I changed it to "We'll Miss You." If you want me to post my version of the song so you can hear it, please let me know!
I'm starting a book club at the library and our first meeting is next Friday. I'm really excited and hope people show up! The first book we will be reading is Tuesdays With Morrie.
My clubs are also going great. Tutoring club has a lot of members and we are really starting to get somewhere with the club. Wings is also doing great. We already have a fundraiser planned and are really close to getting a print version!!!
Well, that's all for now. I'll be back before you know it!

The End of Week 2
I made it through my first full week of being a sophomore. Woot!
This week has been so....rushed. Even though we had Monday off for Labor day, it still felt like a month. I just realized why everyone called me crazy last year when I submitted my schedule request. Taking 8 classes is hard enough, but all the AP's and Honors offered to sophomores... yeah, I'm crazy! But that good kind of crazy, you know.
The most memorable parts of this week - my injury and an awesome debate in mock trial. Wait, you're probably saying. DEBATE IN TRIAL!!! I'll start with my injury though.
I have a bad knee that likes to bother me a lot. I was in the College and Career Center on Thursday when I literally just fell to the floor. My patella likes to dislocate at the most random moments, and when it does, it hurts like hell. So anyways, this happened at lunch, so I was wheelchaired to the health office, which is bad enough cause about a third of the school saw me. Then, because I seriously could not move my knee and it hurt so bad, I had to be wheelchaired to AP Euro as well. Also, just my luck, that day we were talking about lasting effects of architecture and how the architecture in the lecture hall (of which my school only has one of) was very special. Why? Because it had a flight of stairs going up to it (one of the only stairs in my school) and it has a wheelchair ramp. At this moment, everyone turns to look at me because, lo and behold, I used the ramp today. Luckily, everyone was nice to me and asked me what was wrong and made me feel loved. <3
Okay, so about the debate. The topic was actually pretty stupid. Someone in our class made a nickname for another person in our class -> Mista Pai. The debate was whether or not Mista should be spelled with an "h" at the end or not (Mista vs. Mistah). I was on the pro Mista team, which consisted of 5 people, and I won! Our winning point? Mista was the intellectual property of the person who made it, therefore it could not be used or altered without permission of the owner. (I hope we get better debate topics soon >_<)
Talk to you soon!
Lovezz,
Ashley

Inspired
Hello world!
Just wanted to update you on what is totally inspiring me right now: ABC Family shows.
Lemme explain. Switched At Birth has inspired me to learn ASL because they portray deaf culture very, very well. Jane By Design has inspired me to rekindle my love for fashion drawing and to believe that anything and everything is possible. <3

The Second Day of School
It's the second day of school and I'm tired. Is that bad?
So aside from my sudden increase in need for caffeine, I'm having a pretty great first week. All my teachers are wonderfully awesome and I love them all with all my little heart. Here are the classes I'm taking:
0. PE
1. Biology AP
2. Spanish III
3. Algebra II H
4. English II H
5. European History AP
6. Graphic Design
6. Graphic Design
7. Support / Free
8. Mock Trial
Having 8 classes seemed pretty overwhelming to me at first, but now I see it's not so bad. My PE teacher is super nice, well he calls us hamburgers and hot dogs, but he's still nice. Graphic design doesn't really count as an academic class. We have one project where we have to say who our favorite artist is and that's just an oral presentation, so I'm good. Also, we get 15 minute breaks every class to do whatever we want on the computers. SCORE! Although, mock trial hasn't officially started yet, so maybe I've spoken too soon. We'll see. ^-^
Something you'll notice about me pretty soon is that I love using smiley faces. I will use at least 1 in every post, more often 5+. : - D
Alright, so that's pretty much all I have to say for today. I hope you all have a wonderful morning, afternoon, evening, or night, depending on when you are reading this. <3
